I worked at ADT for one day and realized that I had made a mistake accepting a sales job! Ack! I gave it until Tuesday just to make sure that I was right and had actually made a mistake and wasn't just having first-day jitters or something...
Well, I was right... I don't know what I was thinking accepting a sales position... I hate sales... not to mention ADT requires phone and door-to-door solicitation as part of their selling tactics... I refuse to go door-to-door, that's just rediculous!!
Fortunately, I have already found another job, one that I think I will absolutely love.. I have accepted a position as a Store Detective for Tops Supermarkets. My primary task will be the apprehension of shoplifters, mainly in the city stores but also for the rest of the 21 Rochester-area Tops locations. Others tasks include employee-theft prevension, conducting interviews and interogations, survelience, criminal court, etc. It should be a decent job and sounds like it will be enjoyable. From statistics from previous Store Detectives at Tops, it actually appears I will be doing more law enforcement with Tops than I ever did at the airport. It will also allow me to build a working relationship with the local police departments as well as the court system, which could benefit me down the road.
